What are everyone's opinions on Alaska? I'm going there for three months.

	I'd love to go to Alaska. I hear it's beautiful and that it's much different from the rest of the US. So I'm jealous. Why are you going to be there for 3 months? (Reply to this) (Thread)

	a guy on my hall went there this past summer for three months or so for fishing...I think it was his summer job. As far as I know, he enjoyed it. I don't know enough about it...other than ANWR. (Reply to this) (Thread)

Arctic National Wildlife Refuge
-->Basically the big deal is that many people (including Mr Dubya) want to drill for the oil in Alaska, thinking that the measly amount located there will help the US become more independent from other countries for our oil supply. Considering how much of the world's energy supply the US uses...no amount of oil located within our own country will help us for long. Many people, especially environmentalists, oppose drilling for oil in ANWR because, most of all, it'll ruin the habitat for many forms of wildlife.

There are other reasons and all, but even if I knew all of them, I wouldn't write them all here. If you're interested, just search for info on the web. It's really easy to find.

	I didn't see this post before. Kind of makes my other comment silly. Seems like living on an island would give you plenty of chance to see a mosquito. (Reply to this) (Parent)

That's just what I've been told. I had a friend whose boyfriend moved up there, and he wrote back to her about the mosquitoes. They don't have mosquitoes in Ireland? Huh...for some reason I would have imagined that they would be horrible there because of the rain. But then I don't know how humid it is. They're god awful where I'm from.
Anyway, a 3 month trip to Alaska to work in a hospital? That sounds amazing. What city is the hospital in?
